Any simple benchmarking tools?

Hello,

Although d7 has some diagnostic and stress test tools built in, I'm not aware of a simple benchmark tool that will show sort of a summary report. Something that could be run on multiple computers and compared. There is a free app called Novabench, but it requires installation to run.

I find this type of tool very helpful in easy diagnosing problems...

certainly it sounds like a great idea for a custom app - since it does require install I'd bet still that d7 could automatically download it, install it, and launch the program at least, making it that much easier for you, maybe even automate it and snatch reports depending on the command line options (if any) provided by the software.

Unfortunately I don't know of any portable tools...

PC Wizard might fit the bill. Free and Portable. My two favorites things.

Not a bad find. Added to Config. BUT, what I'd really love to find would be something that can easily benchmark a system before and after a cleanup. Looks like PCW does do benchmarking but it doesn't look like it supports command line benchmarking (I've emailed to ask them).

I noticed this on their product page? I dont recall this last time i visited..

Commandline Parameters
Launch PC Wizard in silent mode : no interface appears, the report is automatically created.
Example : PC Wizard.exe /R T1 C3 c:\reports\report.txt /I
Result: Save plain text report for Hardware Tab and Processor category only into the c:\reports folder, with detailed information.
